Unseeded Pairs Claim Half the Main-Draw Places as Qualifying Concludes at FIP Silver Bali 2026

Men's qualifying at the FIP Silver Bali 2026 reached its conclusion at Island Sports in Bali on Thursday, 13 August, across twelve matches in two rounds, and the four pairs who emerged into the main draw split evenly between the seeded and the unheralded. Women's qualifying began the same day.

Sem Snoek (NED) and Dusan Kostic (SRB) were the story of the men's day. Unseeded and already responsible for removing the fifteenth seeds a day earlier, they survived a punishing third-round test against Amr Hazem (EGY) and Tiago Vallejos (ARG), coming through 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(5). They then ended Indonesia's last realistic qualifying hope, beating the fifth seeds Skar Revilla and Irfandy Hendrawan 7-6(3), 6-2 in the final round.

Josep Freixas Palomino (ESP) and Alex Casas Solsona (ESP) completed the unseeded double. Having reached the third round on two walkovers without playing a competitive point, they beat Josep Fernandez Vila (ESP) and Jorge Falco Romero (ESP) 6-2, 6-4, then dismissed the thirteenth seeds Muh Rezky Jabir Kiki and Raid Rahmat Laleno Mamat 6-0, 6-1 to qualify.

The seeded qualifiers were Raul Jerez Miranda (ESP) and David Quiros Peiro (ESP), and Sergi Nogueras Lorenzo (ESP) with Valentino Acosta Kremnitzer (ARG). The third seeds were merciless throughout, taking apart the ninth seeds Muhammad Nuzhul Patoreang Ijul and Afullah Muhsyarif Aul 6-1, 6-1 before beating the eighth seeds Axel Olholt (SWE) and Viktor Nystrom (SWE) 6-1, 6-3. The sixth seeds edged past the twelfth seeds Richard Ashforth (RSA) and Luan Krige (RSA) 6-2, 7-6(5), then overwhelmed Nicolas Maiso Pablos (ESP) and Carlos Macaya Coscollola (ESP) 6-0, 6-2.

The best Indonesian contest of the day came in the third round, where Skar Revilla and Irfandy Hendrawan and the pair of Muhammad Rayhan Hanafi Rayhan and Yoga Argi Saputra went to a deciding tie-break, the fifth seeds prevailing 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(4). Muh Rezky Jabir Kiki and Raid Rahmat Laleno Mamat also progressed at Indonesian expense, beating Muh Alief Rezky Supriyadi and Irwin Irwin 6-3, 6-4 to end a run that had begun with a double bagel on Tuesday.

Women's qualifying opened with an immediate upset. Voni Darlina and Raihannisa R recovered from a one-sided first set to beat the second seeds Nasywaa Rihadatul Aisy and Helmi Rifdah 1-6, 7-5, 7-6(4) in the longest women's match of the day. The wild-card pair of Trias Wahyu Dianti and Kho Jeanny Wibowo also came from a set down, beating Jessica Johan and Arianna Kennedy (IRL) 5-7, 6-1, 6-4, while the third seeds Dika Nanda Permatasari and Rida Andriana Prisilia needed a second-set tie-break to see off Samantha Gabrielle Nauli Sidabutar and Angela Stefani Nangin 6-3, 7-6(5).

The main draw begins on Friday, with the first round of both the men's and women's competitions bringing the top seeds into action for the first time.
