The second round of men's qualifying at the FIP Silver Bali 2026 delivered the carnage the opening day could not. Sixteen matches at Island Sports in Bali on Wednesday, 12 August brought all sixteen seeded pairs into the draw for the first time, and by the close of play seven of them were gone.
The most striking exit needed no rally at all. Qualifying's top seeds, Mostafa Hesham (EGY) and Ahmad Baidzuri, did not take the court against Muh Alief Rezky Supriyadi and Irwin Irwin, who advanced without hitting a ball, receiving a walkover. The same fate met the eleventh seeds Jose Antonio Arcos (ESP) and Alex Romero Alegre (ESP), handing Josep Freixas Palomino (ESP) and Alex Casas Solsona (ESP) a second consecutive walkover after their opening-round bye through the same route.
Of the seeds who did play, the second-seeded pair fell hardest. Sean Zachary Lo Escoto (HKG) and Aziz Khan (HKG) were beaten 6-2, 6-4 by Amr Hazem (EGY) and Tiago Vallejos (ARG), a pair carrying no ranking protection into the week. Carl Axel Ricardo Holmkvist Cabo (ESP) and Omar Sumar (IND), seeded seventh, were dismantled 6-1, 6-2 by Josep Fernandez Vila (ESP) and Jorge Falco Romero (ESP).
Three more seeded pairs went the same way. Nicolas Maiso Pablos (ESP) and Carlos Macaya Coscollola (ESP) came through a tight three-setter against the tenth seeds Jasha Saas (NED) and Enrique Cano Ferrandiz (ESP), winning 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. Sem Snoek (NED) and Dusan Kostic (SRB) ended the fifteenth seeds Viktor Vostretsov (RUS) and Oscar Hidalgo Reyes (ESP) 6-4, 6-1. And Muhammad Rayhan Hanafi Rayhan and Yoga Argi Saputra continued their strong week by beating the sixteenth seeds Marcos Antonio Cheung Modesto (POR) and Kilian Manzano Terrones (ESP) 6-3, 6-1.
The seeds who survived did so convincingly. Sergi Nogueras Lorenzo (ESP) and Valentino Acosta Kremnitzer (ARG), the sixth seeds, dropped only two games against Antoine Leo Gontard (HKG) and Agustin Amaya (ARG) in a 6-0, 6-2 win. The eighth seeds Axel Olholt (SWE) and Viktor Nystrom (SWE) were similarly ruthless against Pavel Klimov (RUS) and Pavel Saganov (RUS), 6-0, 6-1. Raul Jerez Miranda (ESP) and David Quiros Peiro (ESP), seeded third, and Omar Salem (HUN) with Muhamad Tito Zuhda Irhami, seeded fourth, both advanced in straight sets.
For the Indonesian contingent it was a mixed afternoon. Skar Revilla and Irfandy Hendrawan, seeded fifth, needed a tie-break to get past Akses Dwiki Pamundi and Fernando Bangun 7-6(4), 6-3. Muhammad Nuzhul Patoreang Ijul and Afullah Muhsyarif Aul, the ninth seeds, beat Kemal Sadewo Ratmono and Erlangga Novtrama Ciko 6-3, 6-1, while the thirteenth seeds Muh Rezky Jabir Kiki and Raid Rahmat Laleno Mamat recovered from a set down to see off Andre Elpitra Wahyu and Angga Saputra 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Elsewhere the home hopes ran out. Okki Yonda Yonda and Bagas Pratama Saputra lost 6-2, 6-3 to the twelfth seeds Richard Ashforth (RSA) and Luan Krige (RSA), and Raphael Dandi Perwira Paska and Caesar Okta Jauzaa were beaten 6-2, 6-2 by the third seeds. Mohamed Elzayat (EGY) and Lutfi Anggara, seeded fourteenth, survived the day's other three-setter against Salvador Campos (ESP) and Suhardika Rizqi Mahendra, 6-0, 4-6, 6-4.
Qualifying reaches its conclusion on Thursday with the third round and the final qualifying round, from which four pairs will emerge into the main draw. Women's qualifying also gets under way.
