Rafly and Al Furqan Reach the Main Draw as Qualifying Concludes at FIP Bronze Banten 2026

Qualifying at FIP Bronze Banten 2026 reached its conclusion on Thursday, 16 July at Dewa United Padel, with the third round and the final qualifying round played back to back and the women's competition getting under way. Four pairs earned their places in the main draw, and the pair Indonesia will follow most closely came through the hardest route of all.

Thirteenth seeds Muhammad Rafly and Muhammad Al Furqan qualified after two of the longest matches of the day. In the third round they recovered from losing the opening set to beat second seeds Muhammad Nuzhul Patoreang Ijul and Afullah Muhsyarif Aul 4-6, 6-1, 7-6(3), taking the deciding tiebreak to end the run of one of the tournament's strongest qualifying pairs. Hours later they returned to beat João Moura (POR) and Kenneth Legacy Yesyurun 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-4 in the final qualifying round, coming through a third set that turned on a single break.

The top qualifying seeds fell at the final hurdle. Aldiyar Muzdybayev and Zhakas Kozbak (KAZ), who had advanced through the third round without hitting a ball after receiving a walkover from ninth seeds Kian Rezaee (IRI) and Wisam Khairi (IRQ), lost the qualifying decider 4-6, 4-6 to fourteenth seeds Viktor Vostretsov (RUS) and Tiago Vallejos (ARG).

Twelfth seeds Jose Antonio Macia Herrera and Enrique Cano Ferrandiz (ESP) qualified in the most convincing fashion, dropping no games at all in a 6-0, 6-0 third-round win over wild cards Andre Aristio Andre and Giovanni Wijaya before beating tenth seeds Ollie Bartosh (NZL) and Francisco Mendieta Ruiz (COL) 7-5, 6-3.

Andreu Girona Pascual (ESP) and Muhamad Tito Zuhda Irhami completed the quartet. They removed sixth seeds Muh Rezky Jabir Kiki and Raid Rahmat Laleno Mamat 7-6(4), 6-2 in the third round, then beat Nurizscky Maulana Hamzah and Rusmiputro Ali Harsya 6-4, 6-3.

Hamzah and Ali Harsya had produced the day's other significant upset, coming from a set down to beat eleventh seeds Nurassyl Sultambekov and Danir Kaldybekov (KAZ) 2-6, 7-6(4), 6-3 — the culmination of a run that began when the third seeds withdrew on the opening day. Bartosh and Mendieta Ruiz were equally ruthless in the third round, dismissing eighth seeds Deni Zuliansyah and Ahmed Al Barwani (OMA) 6-0, 6-1.

The women's draw opened with two first-round qualifying matches. Nahla Aufa Dhia Ulhaq and Oxi Gravitas Putri needed three sets to see off Voni Darlina and Arrum Damarsari 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-2, recovering after letting a second-set tiebreak slip, while Berllian Marsheilla and Kho Jeanny Wibowo edged Ami Sakrie and Dian Fitriani 6-4, 7-6(1).

The main draw begins on Friday, with both the men's and women's first rounds played across the day.
