Marti and Bernils Garcia Crowned Champions as Kurz and Koek Take Women's Title in Banten

FIP Bronze Banten 2026 closed on Sunday, 19 July at Dewa United Padel with two new champions and a week that ended with both of the Jakarta title-holders beaten in finals.

Fifth seeds Carlos Marti and Marc Bernils Garcia (ESP) took the men's title, defeating fourth seeds Pablo Pastor Landaburu (ESP) and Kevin Uriel Kviatkovski (ARG) 6-4, 6-1. Pastor Landaburu and Kviatkovski had lifted the trophy at FIP Bronze Jakarta only a week earlier; here they were broken early in the second set and never recovered, the Spanish pair running away with the closing games.

Marti and Bernils Garcia had reached the final through the day's most dramatic match. Facing top seeds Miguel Melero Bernal (ESP) and Nicolas Zurita (ITA) in the semi-finals, they lost the opening set 4-6, levelled by taking a tight second-set tiebreak 7-6(5), and were locked at 3-3 in the decider when Melero Bernal and Zurita were forced to retire, Zurita hampered by injury.

The other men's semi-final was a cleaner affair. Pastor Landaburu and Kviatkovski beat second seeds Julian Prins and Youp De Kroon (NED) 6-4, 6-4, breaking once in each set to reach a second consecutive Indonesian final.

In the women's draw, top seeds Victoria Kurz (GER) and Marcella Koek (NED) completed the week without dropping a set, beating third seeds Elsa Terranova (ITA) and Angelina Neizvestnaya (RUS) 6-3, 6-2 in the final. Terranova and Neizvestnaya had won the title in Jakarta a week earlier, and their bid for a second Indonesian trophy in a fortnight ended against opponents who had conceded only fourteen games across their last three matches.

The women's semi-finals ended Indonesia's run. Fitriani Sabatini and Jessica Lucinda Palma La Cruz (VEN), the sixth seeds, had beaten the fourth seeds in three sets a day earlier but found Kurz and Koek relentless, losing 0-6, 1-6. Terranova and Neizvestnaya reached the final by beating second seeds Dora Chamli (TUN) and Anastasiia Ryzhova (RUS) 6-3, 6-1.

Sabatini's run to the last four was the best Indonesian result of the tournament, following her semi-final appearance in Jakarta. Christine Caroline Watupongoh and Samantha Edison reached the women's quarter-finals unseeded, Novela Putria reached the same stage with Carla Serrano Gonzalez, and in the men's draw Zar Lasahido reached the quarter-finals alongside Omar Salem (HUN) while Muhammad Rafly and Muhammad Al Furqan came through qualifying to reach the last sixteen.

PBPI thanks the players, officials, volunteers and supporters who filled Dewa United Padel across six days of competition, and looks ahead to the next event on the Indonesian international calendar.
