The main draw of the FIP Silver Bali 2026 opened at Island Sports in Bali on Friday, 14 August, with thirty-two first-round matches across the men's and women's competitions. After a qualifying week that had shredded the seedings, the main draw proved far more orderly: fifteen of the sixteen seeded pairs in action came through.
The exception was in the men's draw, where the seventh seeds Hector Vazquez Lopez (ESP) and Andrea Bettineschi (ITA) were beaten 7-5, 7-6(5) by Sergio Esteban Barroso (ESP) and Arturo Miguel Hernando Nuñez (ESP). The unseeded Spanish pair took both sets without ever leading by more than a break, and their reward is a place in the last sixteen.
Everywhere else the men's seeds held firm. The top seeds Marcos Gonzalez Blanco (ESP) and Martin Abud (PAR) opened their week with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Martin Noschese (ARG) and Mohammad Tuwainah (KUW). The second seeds Miguel Melero Bernal (ESP) and Pablo Pastor Landaburu (ESP) beat the wild-card pair of Mario Yohakim Prayanto and Jones Pratama 6-1, 6-3. The third and fourth seeds were similarly untroubled, and the fifth seeds Sergio Icardo (UAE) and Jordi Casanova Bataller (ESP) survived the toughest seeded test of the day, beating the qualifiers Sergi Nogueras Lorenzo (ESP) and Valentino Acosta Kremnitzer (ARG) 7-6(5), 5-7, 6-2.
The longest match of the day was an all-Indonesian affair. Mike Tanoso and Bryan Husin came through 6-7(6), 6-4, 7-6(4) against I Putu Anandana Adi Guna and Naser Al Obaidly (KUW), two tie-breaks bookending a contest that lasted deep into the schedule. They are the only Indonesian pair left in the men's main draw.
The rest of the home men's contingent departed. Carlos Marti (ESP) and Tamrin Bayazid Sinardi, who had entered as a reshaped pairing after Marti's title run in Banten last month, were beaten 6-1, 6-0 by Facundo Erguy (ARG) and Ali Dawani (BRN). Marc Bernils Garcia (ESP) and Dico Ganinduto lost 6-1, 6-2 to Carlos Perez Cabeza (ESP) and Juan Carlos Gama Gonzalez (ESP), and Zar Lasahido and Muhammad Al Furqan were beaten 6-0, 6-3 by the qualifiers Raul Jerez Miranda (ESP) and David Quiros Peiro (ESP). Skar Revilla and Irfandy Hendrawan, who reached the main draw as lucky losers, fell 6-3, 6-4 to the eighth seeds Bohou Zhang (CHN) and Enzo Chua (SGP).
Not one women's seed was troubled. All eight came through in straight sets, the top seeds Maria Virginia Riera (ARG) and Zahra Kahrizi (IRI) conceding just one game against the wild cards Nahla Aufa Dhia Ulhaq and Oxi Gravitas Putri, and the second seeds Carla Fernandez Gonzalez (ESP) and Nerea Guerra Santana (ESP) allowing only one to the qualifiers Trias Wahyu Dianti and Kho Jeanny Wibowo.
Indonesian women fared better in numbers. Sandra Bellver Fructuoso (ESP) and Feity Lesmana, the fifth seeds, beat Alba Gallardo Salvado (ESP) and Melati Anhar 6-3, 6-2 in a match that guaranteed an Indonesian in the second round whatever happened. Vivien Silfany and Kintan Pratiwi Anwar Anwar accounted for the qualifiers Voni Darlina and Raihannisa R 6-2, 6-2, and the qualifying pair of Cindy Rahma Putri Rahma Putri and Anggia Shitta Awanda edged the wild-card sisters Nabila Rahmarizarti Maharani and Meutia Rahmarianti Maharani 6-4, 7-5.
Elsewhere the sisters Sharon Cornelia Watupongoh and Christine Caroline Watupongoh lost 6-2, 6-2 to the fourth seeds, Novi Oey and Meisy Jolly Lee went out to Natalie Narkprasert (THA) and Chun Wing Jennifer Sher (HKG), and the lucky losers Nasywaa Rihadatul Aisy and Helmi Rifdah were beaten 6-3, 7-5 by Tatyana Kutulaeva (UZB) and Lucila Guerrero (ARG).
Saturday brings the second round and the quarter-finals in both draws, a double session that will cut the field from sixteen to four on each side.
