FIP Silver Bali 2026 Opens at Island Sports as Indonesian Pairs Take Charge of Men's Qualifying

The FIP Silver Bali 2026 got under way at Island Sports in Bali on Tuesday, 11 August, with sixteen first-round matches in the men's qualifying draw. A Silver-grade stop on the CUPRA FIP Tour, a step above the three Bronze events Indonesia staged earlier in the year, the tournament drew 48 pairs to men's qualifying alone. With all sixteen seeded pairs holding byes into the second round, the opening day belonged entirely to the unseeded.

The most emphatic performance came from Muh Alief Rezky Supriyadi and Irwin Irwin, who gave up nothing whatsoever against Mohammad Eirfan Eirfan and Alza Relmiyanda in a 6-0, 6-0 win. It was comfortably the shortest completed match of the day, and it set the tone for a strong Indonesian showing across the schedule.

Two ties went the distance. Muhammad Rayhan Hanafi Rayhan and Yoga Argi Saputra recovered from losing a first-set tie-break to beat Muhammad Shafy Dwijanuar Shafy and Sabri Bayhaki 6-7(3), 6-3, 6-3 in an all-Indonesian contest. The day's longest belonged to Antoine Leo Gontard (HKG) and Agustin Amaya (ARG), who edged Kurnia Junaidi and Mazza Hadaduzzikra 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-3 after surrendering a second-set tie-break of their own.

Indonesian pairs claimed seven of the twelve matches that were played to a conclusion. Raphael Dandi Perwira Paska and Caesar Okta Jauzaa opened with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Dallen Doke and Dylan Saputra. Andre Elpitra Wahyu and Angga Saputra needed a tie-break to see off Ismail Jaya and Joko Tamora 6-1, 7-6(4), while Kemal Sadewo Ratmono and Erlangga Novtrama Ciko were more straightforward in beating Eric Edisanto and Rayson Lo 6-2, 6-2.

Okki Yonda Yonda and Bagas Pratama Saputra produced one of the more notable Indonesian results of the afternoon, dismissing Jan Guerrero (ESP) and Ahmad Ahdal (KSA) 6-2, 6-2. Akses Dwiki Pamundi and Fernando Bangun completed the home wins, surviving a first-set tie-break to beat Brilliant Rahadian Bahtiar and Samuel Nanere 7-6(5), 6-2.

The international entries made their presence felt too. Josep Fernandez Vila (ESP) and Jorge Falco Romero (ESP) were the most convincing of them, ending the tournament of French wild cards Leverdez Brice (FRA) and Jiang Thomas Thomas (FRA) 6-2, 6-1 in the only match of the day to feature a tagged pair. Nicolas Maiso Pablos (ESP) and Carlos Macaya Coscollola (ESP) beat Muhammad Nendi Novatino Nendi and Muhamad Rafi Syarahil 7-5, 6-2, and Lucas Ladeveze (ARG) partnered Hendriko Hendriko to a 6-2, 6-3 win against Rovi Ardiles Pericles and Patrick Geraldo Mahune. Amr Hazem (EGY) and Tiago Vallejos (ARG) rounded out the international results, beating Raditya Kirana Rianto and Daffa Arifin Rohman 6-4, 6-2.

Four of the sixteen ties never began. Josep Freixas Palomino (ESP) and Alex Casas Solsona (ESP), Salvador Campos (ESP) and Suhardika Rizqi Mahendra, Pavel Klimov (RUS) and Pavel Saganov (RUS), and Sem Snoek (NED) and Dusan Kostic (SRB) all advanced without hitting a ball, receiving walkovers.

Qualifying continues at Island Sports on Wednesday with the second round, when the sixteen seeded pairs enter the draw and the field halves again on the road to four main-draw places.
