FIP Bronze Banten 2026 Opens at Dewa United Padel: Wild Cards Topple Seventh Seeds

FIP Bronze Banten 2026 got under way on Tuesday, 14 July at Dewa United Padel, with a full opening card of 32 first-round men's qualifying matches. The winners move into Wednesday's second round, the first cut on a road that will eventually deliver four pairs into the main draw.

The headline result belonged to Indonesian wild cards Febry Ramadhan Hidayat and Pambudi Elsa Wiguna. Facing seventh seeds Muhammad Revan Alkautsar and Wahyu Diantoro, the pair took the opening set 6-3 and then held their nerve through a far tighter second, closing it out 7-5 to record the biggest on-court upset of the round.

A second seeded pair fell soon after. Athallah Firdianto and Bagas Pratama Saputra dismissed sixteenth seeds Stephen Djayadinata and Caesar Okta Jauzaa 6-4, 6-3, never allowing the seeds to settle.

Two of the higher qualifying seeds departed without playing at all. Third seeds Bardan Cosmin Constantin (ROU) and Xavier Beneito Molina (ESP) conceded a walkover to Raditya Kirana Rianto and Suhardika Rizqi Mahendra, while fourth seeds Aleix Fuertes (ESP) and Gerry Gunawan Saputra did the same against Attrial Ismail and Zefanya Jagad Listianto. Eighth seeds Deni Zuliansyah and Ahmed Al Barwani (OMA) advanced without hitting a ball for the opposite reason, receiving a walkover from Luke Trotman (CAN) and Daniel Jaramillo Matute (ESP).

Elsewhere the seeds held firm. Top seeds Aldiyar Muzdybayev and Zhakas Kozbak (KAZ) beat Kurnia Junaidi and Mazza Hadaduzzikra 6-2, 6-4, and second seeds Muhammad Nuzhul Patoreang Ijul and Afullah Muhsyarif Aul conceded just two games in a 6-0, 6-2 win. Eleventh seeds Nurassyl Sultambekov and Danir Kaldybekov (KAZ) were the most ruthless of the day, taking a double bagel, while thirteenth seeds Muhammad Rafly and Muhammad Al Furqan dropped only one game. Fifth seeds Michael Leonard Sungkono and Rafael Jose Soesilo, sixth seeds Muh Rezky Jabir Kiki and Raid Rahmat Laleno Mamat, ninth seeds Kian Rezaee (IRI) and Wisam Khairi (IRQ), tenth seeds Ollie Bartosh (NZL) and Francisco Mendieta Ruiz (COL), twelfth seeds Jose Antonio Macia Herrera and Enrique Cano Ferrandiz (ESP), fourteenth seeds Viktor Vostretsov (RUS) and Tiago Vallejos (ARG) and fifteenth seeds Taufik Tri Wahyuda and Akses Dwiki Pamundi all advanced in straight sets.

Indonesian pairs filled much of the winners' column on a day dominated by the home field. Wild cards Setyadi Bagus Laksono and Wijaya Rindosa were emphatic in an all-wild-card tie, beating Febri Rachman and Udaya Pradnyawidura Halim 6-0, 6-1, and fellow wild cards Andre Aristio Andre and Giovanni Wijaya came through 6-4, 6-4 against Bagas Puspito Aji and Muhammad Ammar. Muhammad Irfan Kevin Suherman and Rafael Christeven Sanjaya advanced 6-4, 6-1, Yoga Pinasatria and Atev Figosutansyah won 6-1, 6-2, and Rexy Ibrahimovic and Muhammad Fajar Amarta Fajar recovered from a tight opening set to win 7-5, 6-0.

The day's closest contests came from the unseeded ranks. Wigriatma Garcia Batara Rangan and Marc Reche Bravo (ESP) survived the longest match on site, beating wild cards Muhammad Andre Vahrossy Andre and Aditya Prawira 6-3, 5-7, 7-5, while Saul Serna Rafael (ESP) and Madhiva Ananda Syahmir recovered from losing the second set to see off Matthew Thomas (AUS) and Adrian Christoff Diva Lagman (NZL) 6-2, 5-7, 6-2. Two more ties turned on opening-set tiebreaks: Okki Yonda Yonda and Irwin Irwin edged Raziv Bancin and Andre Elpitra Wahyu 7-6(3), 6-3, and Abhita Nabil Arrofiq and Marga Nagaswara Putra Marga came through 7-6(6), 6-4 against Muhammad Hidayatul Rezky Djufri and Andi Amar Maruf Sulaiman.

Qualifying continues on Wednesday with the second round, when the 32 first-round winners are cut to sixteen ties.
