Meet Friday's four men's qualifiers: Mercadal–Mamat, Ijul–Aul, Trijati–Saputra, Edison–Imam Maruf

Three Indonesian pairs and one Spanish-Indonesian combination earned the four men's main-draw spots on Day 2 of FIP Bronze Yogyakarta 2026 — and only one of them was a seeded team.

With Day 2 of the FIP Bronze Yogyakarta 2026 in the books, the four men's qualifiers who join Friday's 32-team main draw are now confirmed. Three of the four are all-Indonesian pairings; one — the first to qualify on Thursday — combines a Spanish player with a local one. Of the eight seeded teams that started the week, only one of these four was a top-eight seed in qualifying.

Adria Mercadal (ESP) / Raid Rahmat Laleno Mamat (INA) — Came through with two emphatic wins on West A and Dome B, beating No. 2 seeds Luke Power and Indra Wahyu Anshari 6–3, 6–2 in Q2, then sweeping alternates Dyvac Akbar and Reno Sultan 6–0, 6–0 in Q3. No sets dropped, twelve games conceded across the two matches.

Muhammad Nuzhul Patoreang Ijul (3) / Afullah Muhsyarif Aul (3, INA) — The only seeded pair to survive Day 2. Won their Q2 on Dome A 4–3 when Rexy Ibrahimovic and Dhimas Rivai Arganata were forced to retire, then came through a hard three-set qualifying final against Ahmad Baidzuri and Lutfi Anggara, 6–4, 6–7, 7–5.

Sunu Wahyu Trijati (INA) / Iqbal Bilal Saputra (INA) — Beat Brilliant Rahadian Bahtiar and Attrial Ismail 6–2, 6–2 on East B in Q2, then upset No. 4 seeds Muhammad Revan Alkautsar and Muhammad Rafly 6–1, 7–6 in the qualifying final on Dome B.

Christian Alvin Edison (INA) / Achad Imam Maruf (INA) — Dispatched Muhalief Rezky Supriyadi Alief and Irwin 6–0, 6–1 on Dome B in Q2, then ended the Bancin–Yesyurun run by winning Q3 on Dome A, 6–3, 6–2.

These four pairs now slot into the main draw alongside the 26 directly accepted teams and the 2 wild cards. Friday is Round of 32 in both men's and women's draws, with Saturday compressing the Round of 16 and the quarter-finals into a single day, and the semi-finals and finals on Sunday, 24 May. The winners take €807.50 per player; the runners-up €446.25.

After the chaos of Day 2, that main draw just got significantly harder to predict.

Order restored: Seeded pairs march through Round of 32 on Day 3 of FIP Bronze Yogyakarta 2026

After Thursday's qualifying chaos, Friday's main-draw opener went largely to script — fourteen of sixteen seeded pairings reached the Round of 16, with one men's seed beaten on court by an Indonesian sibling pairing and one women's seed withdrawing from the tournament before play.
