There were no quiet upsets on Day 2 of the FIP Bronze Yogyakarta 2026. Across the Dome A, Dome B, East B and West A courts at the Wii Social Hub, Thursday's Round 2 and Round 3 of men's qualifying turned the seeding board on its head: of the top five seeded pairs in the bracket, four lost — and only the No. 3 seeds Muhammad Nuzhul Patoreang Ijul and Afullah Muhsyarif Aul came through to claim a place in Friday's main draw.
The day's biggest shock came on Dome A. Top seeds Raditya Kirana Rianto and Wahyu Diantoro, who had opened their qualifying campaign on Wednesday with a flawless 6–0, 6–0 win, were beaten 1–6, 6–4, 6–3 by Raziv Bancin and Kenneth Legacy Yesyurun in a Q2 match that the unseeded pair turned around from a one-set deficit. The win sent Bancin and Yesyurun into the qualifying final — though their run ended there at the hands of Christian Alvin Edison and Achad Imam Maruf, who won 6–3, 6–2 to take the fourth and final main-draw qualifying spot.
Over on West A, the No. 2 seeds Luke Power and Indra Wahyu Anshari were dispatched in the Round of 16 by Spain's Adria Mercadal and Raid Rahmat Laleno Mamat, who won 6–3, 6–2 and then completed an emphatic qualifying run with a 6–0, 6–0 demolition of alternates Dyvac Akbar and Reno Sultan in Q3. The 12-game-to-nil scoreline made Mercadal–Mamat the first pair confirmed for the men's main draw on Day 2.
The fourth-seeded pairing of Muhammad Revan Alkautsar and Muhammad Rafly fared no better. They were taken to three sets in Q2 by Muhammad Rayhan Hanafi Rayhan and Yoga Argi Saputra — surviving 7–6, 6–7, 6–2 — only to be beaten in Q3 by Sunu Wahyu Trijati and Iqbal Bilal Saputra, 6–1, 7–6. Trijati and Saputra had earlier brushed past Brilliant Rahadian Bahtiar and Attrial Ismail 6–2, 6–2, and now join the main draw as the third confirmed qualifier.
The No. 5 seeds Taufik Tri Wahyuda and Indra Utama also fell on Thursday, beaten 7–6, 6–0 in Q2 by the alternate pair Akbar–Sultan (who in turn lost in Q3 to Mercadal–Mamat).
That leaves Day 2's four men's qualifiers as: Mercadal / Mamat (ESP/INA), Ijul / Aul (3, INA), Trijati / Saputra (INA), and Edison / Imam Maruf (INA). Of the eight original seeded pairs, only one is still alive going into Friday — and the main draw now welcomes three unseeded teams and a Spanish-Indonesian combination that has dropped a total of three games across their last two matches combined.
